On September 6th, 2017, Chinabidders held meeting with International Center on Small Hydro Power (ICSHP) to discuss the cooperation on medium and small hydropower development in Pakistan. The deputy director-general Liu Deyou, the international liaison department chief Huang Yan, the program officer Eliza Yao from the ICSHP and the chairman Wen Xingquan, project manager Wei Xueyun from Chinabidders attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the deputy director-general Liu Deyou spoke highly of Chinabidder’s development strategy and its achievement, then he made brief introduction about ICSHP and its business. As a public and non-profit institution directly affiliated with China’s Ministry of Water Resources, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the headquarters of the International Network on Small Hydro Power (INSHP), an international organization with more than 480 members over 80 countries, ICSHP has always been committed to the international hydropower development and hopes to take this opportunity to build long-term strategic cooperation with Chinabidders to co-develop medium and small hydropower project in Pakistan and make contributions to the green energy development of Pakistan.
Chairman of Chinabidders Wen Xingquan briefly introduced the background of Pakistan Hydropower development. He mentioned that in order to improve energy structure, satisfy people’s demand for clean energy and alleviate the power pressure, the government of Pakistan started to launch some large-scale hydropower station development project in recent years. In the meanwhile, there are many medium and small hydropower projects that have great development value but are in smaller scale and located in remote areas in Pakistan, so the government and some large engineering companies show no intent to develop these projects, which results in resource waste. Based on the accumulated experience and achievement made in project development in Pakistan, Chinabidders will integrate domestic and abroad resources to build a cross-border platform combining technology, product, service, market and capital as a whole, committing to sharing international projects to more Chinese enterprises and realizing the seamless connection of “going out” and “bringing in”.
As the vice-president unit of CAPUNP, Chinabidders has been paying close attentions to United Nations Industrial Development Organization on the UN purchasing program all the time. With common strategic goals with ICSHP in many aspects, such as, the Belt and Road Initiative, hydropower project development and so on, Chinabidders would like to be the initiator to facilitate the project implementation and achieve mutual benefit and win-win.
